When is the best time to polish concrete if I have an old or existing slab or I’m renovating?

After the removal of carpet, tiles, timber, vinyl or other existing floor covering, we then come in and do an initial grind to remove the mortar or glue. Once this is done, we can, then proceed to the polishing process. Because As the grinding and polishing machines are up to 450kg, they can’t fit under low heights, so we’d highly recommend removing skirting boards, cabinetry kickboards, toilets or other low fixtures, especially if your in a small space is small.,and if If you’re actually renovating and replacing cabinetry altogether, then it is best to wait until onc all e the cabinets are out , because that is an ideal is the best time to have the polishing done.

We encourage caution when renovating because Working up to finished edges always carries a small chance of damage to the skirtings ,walls and even the  paint. This is becauset, as the machines are large and can occasionally ‘grab’ onto an area of concrete, moving unexpectedly into walls. Thus, the ideal time to have polishing done is when the existing floor covering has been removed and low fixtures or cabinetry are out of the  way.
