All produce a hard-wearing, slip and stain resistant attractive finish, with a choice or matte or gloss. The greater the degree of grinding, however, the more aggregate is exposed so that fuller levels of attractive pattern are created. As a result of the intensive cement floor finishing, the floors have lots of advantages over other types of flooring:
- Can be applied to new floors and to old floors that are in relatively good condition
- Each floor is unique due to the varying size and colours of aggregates used
- Slip resistant properties and anti-static so don’t cause accidents and don’t attract dust
- Light reflective, producing an extremely attractive, satin to high gloss finish with varied patterns depending on the aggregate used and the degree of grinding and polishing employed
- Extremely durable and resistant to chips and dents so it will last up to decades in excellent condition if looked after with reasonable care
- Cheaper than natural stone alternatives yet with an equally attractive appearance and practicality
- Extremely low maintenance, requiring only regular sweeping and mopping with a solution of warm water and a neutral cleaning agent, plus occasional buffing to retain a high gloss finish.
