Can you match new and old slabs?

If you have mismatched slabs, unfortunately, it’s unlikely that they will look exactly the same once polished. If you haven’t yet poured the new slab, it’s important to have your concreter visit and look at the existing concrete, so they can choose a similar concrete mix. Just keep in mind that batches from different years will have different sand, different aggregate, different oxides and more, so even if you try to match them and even use the same concrete supplier, it will still be a bit different. If you are concerned about this, you could possibly use this difference as a design feature. Another option might be to break up your flooring with timber inserts or other colours/textured materials.
